Easy & Healthy Chicken Burger Your Family Will Love

I'm always on the lookout for healthy chicken burger recipes. Being big burger fans, we probably have them for dinner about once a week. A few years ago, my husband decided to try to recreate a chicken burger he saw on one of the Food Network shows.

Combining chicken, artichokes, black olives, onions, and a few other ingredients he won't tell me about, his chicken burger is the first thing my kids ask him to make when they come home from college. In fact, he has made those burgers for company and they just rave about them.

I wondered, could I make a healthy chicken burger to rival his? Could I create something as delicious and keep it healthy? After a little experimenting, the answer was You bet I can!

But I have a little secret of my own. Mann's challenged me to make a backyard BBQ recipe using one of their new Nourish Bowls. Have you tried any of these easy new meals? Ready in just three minutes, Nourish Bowls come in five scrumptious flavors; Monterey Rissoto, Southwest Chipotle, Smokehouse Brussels, Cauli-Rice Curry and Sesame Sriracha.

These Bowls are fantastic all on their own, and they are all 420 calories or less! Quick and easy meals are important to me. We're all so busy, and having one of these fresh and healthy meals ready in three minutes is pretty amazing!

I've been trying different creations for about a week now, and this chicken burger with Southwest flavors is definitely my favorite so far! And talk about easy! It took about five minutes to toss everything together!

Easy & Healthy Chicken Burger

Ingredients

1 Southwest Chipotle Nourish Bowl
1 pound ground chicken or turkey
4 pretzel rolls
avocado or other toppings (optional)

Instructions
Serves 4

Set the cheese and salsa packets from the Nourish Bowl package aside.

Cook only the vegetables for two minutes.

In a food processor, pulse the vegetables from the Nourish Bowl a few times so the pieces are small.

In a medium sized bowl, mix ground chicken or turkey with the vegetables. Add in half of the salsa pack and the whole cheese package. Mix well.

Form 4 burgers, about 2 inches thick.

Grill burgers or cook over medium/high heat, 5-7 minutes on each side or until done.

Place burgers on toasted pretzel buns.

Divide remaining salsa on top of burgers and add sliced avocado or your favorite toppings.

The possibilities are just endless with what you could create with Nourish Bowls! I also just love that the company is three generations strong. That's 78 years of fresh! Today, their CEO, two-thirds of their shareholders, and the majority of their board of directors are women. In addition, Mann's is all about sustainability, which is important to all of us.

Right now the Nourish Bowls are available at Super Target, but keep an eye out at your local grocery store, too.

I have some other ideas up my sleeve to try with the Nourish Bowls! What would you try? Share your ideas in the comments!
