Frequently Asked Questions

Is rotisserie chicken still zero points on Weight Watchers?

As long as you are not eating the skin, the chicken breast meat is zero Points.

Can you eat too much chicken?

Actually, chicken breast is a super healthy food, but you should eat everything in moderation, including chicken breast. According to the American Heart Association, you shouldn’t eat more than six ounces of chicken breast per day.

Is grilled chicken healthier than pan fried?

Yes. Both grilled chicken and rotisserie chicken are healthier. As the drippings drip off the chicken versus the chicken cooking in the drippings, the fat content is much lower.

Tips

Remember, chicken breasts are the healthiest variety of poultry.

Other healthy options are ground chicken breast, skinless chicken or turkey breast deli meat, 98% fat free ground turkey or ground turkey breast, and skinless turkey breast.

This means chicken or turkey dark meat is not a zero points food.

A cooking thermometer will help to not overcook breast meat, which is the biggest complaint when it comes to white meat versus dark.

If your chicken seems to be drying out, add some fat free chicken stock. This is great to have on hand to turn leftovers into a delicious and healthy soup.

Batch cooking chicken breasts is a great way to have a few meals for the week.

Use cooking spray or a very small amount of olive oil to moisten the outside of the lean chicken breast.

Whether you choose to cook the chicken on the stove or in the oven is a personal preference. Both will produce juicy chicken as long as you finish cooking at 165º.

Again, that thermometer is really important for making sure you don’t dry out that breast meat. This is the most popular and a limited time deal, so I hope you’re able to get that great price!

Serve the chicken with a veggie like green beans or broccoli for a well rounded meal.
