How to Make an Easy Frozen Daiquiri Cocktail Recipe

This frozen daiquiri is super easy to make, and we’ve added a bit of a twist to change it up. A classic daiquiri is made with white rum, fresh lime juice, and sugar, but we think rum pairs beautifully with a splash of orange by adding triple sec!

Why We Love This Cocktail

Seriously, what’s not to love? This frozen version of one of the most popular happy hour cocktails has only 4 ingredients and takes minutes to make!

Though the frozen daiquiri is often thought of as a summertime drink, I think it’s a fun drink to serve all year long!

Speaking of summer, did you know the color yellow is associated with happiness? That’s a good reason to serve yellow cocktails if you want a happy crowd!

A good blender can not only make your life easier (you can use it for so much more than drinks!) but can be a game changer in taking your cocktails from slushy to smooth.

We researched the best blender for frozen drinks so you don’t have to. We’ve listed several price points, too, so there is something for every budget.

Variations and Additions

You could make this classic cocktail with any fresh fruit, so the flavor variations and combinations are endless by simply adding to the main ingredients of rum, Triple Sec, and lime juice.

Try adding homemade lemon lime simple syrup. You can even switch up the citrus juice to orange or grapefruit. Get creative!

Add fresh strawberries (or frozen strawberries) to give strawberry flavor to your strawberry daiquiri recipe.

Raspberries also pair well for a raspberry daiquiri. Try a delicious mango daiquiri, too!

Add fresh peaches for a peach daiquiri or bananas for a banana daiquiri.

Make the Hemingway Daiquiri, made famous by Ernest Hemingway. Simply add maraschino liqueur and grapefruit juice to the original daiquiri.

Dark rum also works in this recipe and will give this drink a slightly smoky flavor. Try it in any drink you would make with light rum. Different varieties of aged rum and spiced rum will add different flavors, too.

Feel free to garnish your cocktail with a lime slice or whichever fresh fruit juice you’ve added in your cocktail recipe.

FAQs

Is a frozen margarita the same as a frozen daiquiri?

No. Though they may taste similar as they both have lemon or lime juice, a margarita is made with tequila.

What kind of glass do you use for a frozen daiquiri?

We’ve used a classic coupe glass but you can use a hurricane glass or a margarita glass, too. And if you’re out by the pool, opt for plastic cocktail glasses.

Can I just serve this drink on the rocks?

Certainly! A Daiquiri is delicious over ice, too.

Top Tips

If you’re making these for a party, make sure to load up on plenty of ice. Ask someone to bring a bag or load up plastic freezer bags with ice in the days leading up to your gathering.

Make sure your ingredients are all cold! All juices and fruit should be in the fridge overnight. Frozen fruit works really well, too.

Instead of blending at high speed, blend at a lower speed for a little longer.

When you’re making one or two, it doesn’t matter quite as much, but when you’re making batches, it’s best to add ice last. Liquid should go in first and be at the bottom for blending.
