đź–¤ Why We Love this Recipe
We love the mix of the salty pretzel rods and sweetness together. Paired with smooth chocolate and the crunch of the pretzel – it’s a match made in heaven!
We also appreciate that time is a limited resource in December, so being able to put together tasty treats the whole family will love in mere minutes is super helpful.
If that’s not enough reasons to love these favorite Christmas treats, they make great gifts. Pick up decorated coffee tins or holiday coffee cups for gifting pretzels. Wrap with cellophane and ribbon.
You could also use a cellophane bag tied with a ribbon for a small gift. They are great to tie on a gift box as an extra fun treat, too!

👩🏻‍🍳 How to Make Chocolate Covered Pretzel Logs
Melt the wafers according to package directions in a microwave-safe bowl. It’s very easy to overheat the chocolate melts, so it’s best to do it in short increments.
Using a tall glass, pour the melted chocolate into it for dipping the pretzels to cover in chocolate.
Use one glass for regular chocolate and another for white chocolate.
You’ll want to dip each pretzel rod into the melted chocolate, covering about half of the rod and letting the excess chocolate drop off.
Over parchment paper, waxed paper, or a plate, drop your choice of holiday sprinkles and chopped toppings over the chocolate-covered pretzels until covered.
Carefully lay pretzel rods on parchment paper to allow time for the chocolate to set. Use this procedure for all pretzel rods.
Once the pretzel rods are dry and chocolate has set, use cookie icing to add lines to some or all the rods.
If you don’t want to add sprinkles, it’s best to let the first chocolate layer dry before adding lines.
Let your chocolate covered pretzel rods completely dry before wrapping up or serving.

Frequently Asked Questions
You can make these up to about 2 weeks in advance.
In an airtight container, these will keep for up to 2 weeks. Trust me when I say they won’t last that long as they are so delicious!
We don’t recommend freezing them. Pretzels in general don’t fare well after freezing, and condensation will form on the chocolate when refrigerated or frozen.
đź’ Top Tips
Use fresh pretzels! Don’t ruin all the work by using stale pretzels.
If your chocolate becomes too thick to dip, add a little coconut oil or vegetable oil and stir just enough to thin it out.
Though it may seem like a good idea to roll the pretzel rods in the sprinkles, it ends up being a mess. The easiest way is to sprinkle from above as we’ve done.
