Holiday Charcuterie Wreath

This Christmas charcuterie board is perfect for holiday celebrations and a festive appetizer for entertaining guests at parties and other events. We have even used these antipasto skewers for movie night as a delicious appetizer for snacking on. It is the prettiest antipasto wreath that takes minimal effort to make, perfect for Christmas parties.

My Christmas charcuterie board inspired this. It is such a fun appetizer that allows guests to graze and pick what they want, so I tried to create another option for a holiday gathering. Also, check out these charcuterie cones! Any of these would be fun for Christmas Eve, too.

What You Need To Make It

Pickles in a white bowl, olives in a white bowl, cheese in a white bowl, tomatoes in a white bowl, and salami and pepperoni on white plates with rosemary around and red, green, and white cloth.
  • salami and pepperoni
  • cherry tomatoes
  • green olives
  • mini pickles
  • cheese cubes (Feel free to use your favorite. We used Colby jack, pepper jack, and aged cheddar)
  • Rosemary sprigs
  • Skewers

How to Make a Charcuterie Wreath

Wash and pat dry your grape tomatoes. Place a tomato on each of the skewers.

Next, you will accordion fold your salami and pepperoni and place them on top of the tomato on the skewer.

Next, top with a slice of meat and a cheese cube.

Repeat the process until everything is done.

Then, alternately place a mini pickle or green olive on each skewer.

Arrange your skewers in a large circular shape on your serving board. Stack on top of each other, leaving the center hollow to create a wreath shape.

Garnish with fresh rosemary springs, then serve or cover with plastic wrap and store in the fridge until ready to serve.

Variations & Substitutions

If you would like more variety, reach for different types of cheeses. Soft cheese or hard cheeses work—mozzarella balls, blue cheese wedges, soft goat cheese, cheddar, etc. You can use different sizes of cheese to add dimension to the delicious charcuterie board. See cheese for a charcuterie board for tips.

If you do not like green olives, you can substitute black olives or a different item altogether.

While I love the fresh rosemary sprigs, you can add some thyme, dill, or other fresh herbs to create more texture on the board.

For a pop of color, you can garnish your charcuterie wreath board with some pomegranate seeds for a beautiful addition.

To the side of the board, you can have bowls of dippers for your cheese board like strawberry fig jam, sweet hot mustard sauce, hummus, or one of our favorite condiments for a charcuterie board. Place the condiments in small bowls and set them to the side so they don’t affect the festive wreath shape on the board. Add some crackers to the side to spread and pair with your cheese board.

You can use any type of food you like. When you are assembling the easy appetizer wreath, just think of Christmas colors.

Top Tips

You can use large toothpicks or small wooden skewers if you do not have actual appetizer plastic skewers.

Make sure that you do the same layer of each food on the skewers so that the pattern is the same on all the skewers. This will help create a uniform look when you shape your wreath.

Reach for a larger platter than your circle wreath. This will help you have room for the fresh herbs to fill in, making it look like a stunning charcuterie wreath.

You can make this as large or small as you want to fit the number of people you plan to serve. That is the best part of this type of appetizer: You control the number of servings you make.

How to Store Charcuterie Wreath

If you do not eat all your charcuterie wreath immediately, you want to store it in the fridge. Ensure it is tightly covered with plastic wrap or in a sealed container. Then assemble right before serving.
