My youngest daughter decided a while back to make a recipe for Pecha Poffins, a treat you can feed your Pokemon. In the game, these little desserts can give your Pokemon power-ups. My kids have loved Pokemon since they were small. They are now teenagers and still play the games, saving their money each time they hear of a new version coming out. If you have younger children who are Pokemon fans, they may not recognize this treat unless they go back and play older games.

My daughter found the recipe on the Ask-Arceus blog on Tumblr. Sadly, this blog has been inactive for about a year, but the recipes are still there to enjoy.

    Pecha Poffins

Here are step by step instructions. Your kids will be excited to help!

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a muffin pan with mini or standard paper liners. In a medium bowl, cream together the sugar and butter. Beat in the eggs, one at a time. Stir in the vanilla. Combine flour and baking powder, add to the creamed mixture and mix well.
Finally stir in the milk until the batter is smooth.

Spoon batter into the prepared pan.

Bake 20 to 25 minutes. Poffins are done when it springs back to the touch.

While the poffins are cooling, prepare the icing. Combine the powdered sugar and half and half or cream and stir until the sugar is creamy. Add the vanilla & almond extracts. Top each poffin with a slice of strawberry.

Drizzle with icing in a zig zag pattern.

    Enjoy!

Perfect! My granddaughter will be here Saturday and since it's supposed to rain, I've been trying to think of things to do indoors. She loves pokemon and cupcakes, thank you!
