We had to try this Dirty Strawberry Soda after seeing all the dirty soda drinks on TikTok. Honestly, TikTok is not my thing, but you can't argue with viral recipes, and the flavor of this one is amazing!

Red drink in a glass with whipped cream and strawberry.

It’s so easy to make with just three simple ingredients. This version is great for the whole family, but if you want a more adult version, it’s easy to spike it for a boozy treat.

For more delicious drinks with no alcohol, try this strawberry agua fresca, strawberry nectarine lemonade, and triple berry lemonade.

The sweet flavor of strawberries and cream makes this dirty strawberry soda a real treat to satisfy your sweet tooth.

🖤 Why We Love this Recipe

Unlike some TikTok trends, there are no weird flavors in this one (we’re looking at you, “healthy coke” recipes!). If you like strawberry soda, you’ll love this.

There’s also no complicated prep or chilling time needed. It can be made up in less than 5 minutes. And that bright red strawberry soda color has a ton of visual appeal.

This is a great drink when you want to treat yourself or for a quick party drink.

🛒 What Goes Into This Recipe

While you may not have all these ingredients at home right now, they’re easy to find at any grocery store.

Since there are only three ingredients that you need, it’s a very inexpensive way to whip up a really tasty drink.

Ingredients to make dirty strawberry soda.
    1. Strawberry Soda. Fanta makes a really awesome strawberry soda that is perfect for this, but you can use any strawberry-flavored soda.
    2. French Vanilla Coffee Creamer. To get the full strawberry and cream flavor, make sure you use vanilla coffee creamer instead of just plain creamer or half and half.
    3. Strawberry Syrup. This adds an extra pop of strawberry flavor. You can find strawberry syrup in the area with ice cream toppings at most grocery stores.

See recipe card for quantities and full directions.

👩🏻‍🍳 How to Make Dirty Strawberry Soda

If you want it to look fancy, garnish with fresh strawberries or whipped cream.

    📖 Variations

    Other Fruit Soda Flavors

Fanta is famous worldwide for its fruity soda flavors. Orange, peach, pineapple, and grape all make wonderful alternatives to strawberry.

    Other Types of Soda

You can use any type of soda, so get creative. A creamy blend with Dr. Pepper or Cherry Coke is amazing. Love root beer floats? Find a really good root beer and it tastes just like a melted root beer float.

    Skinny

You can even make a skinny version as a Dirty Diet Coke and low-fat creamer. Or, if you want your drink to pack a caffeine jolt, try Mountain Dew with a squeeze of fresh lime juice or lemon juice.

Jazz it up with fresh fruits, like strawberry puree, tropical fruit, or fresh berries.

    Other Creamer Flavors

If you’ve wandered through the dairy section recently, you know you can find a ton of flavored creamers. There are a lot of options that are amazing for this recipe.

Some wonderful combinations include strawberry soda with white chocolate raspberry creamer, orange soda with pumpkin spice creamer, peach soda with butter pecan creamer, or Coke with chocolate creamer.

Have a Harry Potter fan in your midst? Make a dirty butterbeer with club soda, a splash of vanilla cream, a splash of heavy whipping cream, and a bit of butterscotch syrup.

    Flavored Milk

You can also use flavored milk, like strawberry milk or chocolate milk.

    Make it Boozy

Looking for a tasty treat with a twist? Add some of your favorite liquor for an added punch.

Rum and vodka work incredibly well – pro tip, try whipped cream flavored vodka and thank me later! But also look for flavored liqueurs like raspberry Chambord, Cointreau orange, Malibu coconut (with pineapple soda for a piña colada twist), or Bailey’s Irish Cream.

Almost any ingredient combinations you can think of can be the next dirty soda inspiration.

    ? Frequently Asked Questions

    What is dirty soda?

Dirty sodas are carbonated beverages with added flavored syrup, cream, or more. These are especially popular in Utah where there’s a desire for creative, non-alcoholic drinks. Utah is the home of the classic dirty soda recipe.

    Does dirty soda curdle?

The interaction of the ingredients can cause the ingredients to look somewhat curdled when everything comes in contact with the ice. It is not actually spoiled and curdled, though!

Does a dirty soda have alcohol?

The original dirty soda recipes are popular in Utah, especially with Mormon families who abstain from alcohol. But the great thing about this trend is that you can mix it up any way you like. If you want it boozy, go for it! If you want it without, then it still tastes amazing!

    💭 Top Tips

Don’t make this drink in advance. You don’t want the soda to go flat or the ice to water it down, so make this drink right before you want to serve it.

Use dairy-free creamers for people who are lactose intolerant. Different types of creamers work equally as well as milk-based ones. If you are lactose intolerant, use a coconut creamer or almond milk creamer instead.

Try dirty sodas with crushed ice or pebble ice. If you have access to crushed ice or nugget ice, you can use that instead of ice cubes. This means that you can drink the dirty soda and have a bit of a crunch from the ice as well.
