Our One Pan Honey Garlic Chicken with mango is a quick delicious meal your whole family will devour. With just a handful of ingredients and minimal preparation, you can have this family favorite on the table in less than 30 minutes.
We have all these ingredients on hand at all times with the exception of mango, which you can find in grocery stores everywhere.
We love mango in tropical coconut oatmeal and this Mango Slaw Recipe (so good on tacos!) so we buy them a lot, especially when they’re on sale. The mango adds a lot of flavor to this easy recipe.

How to Make One Pan Honey Garlic Chicken
Step 1: Season chicken with salt and black pepper on both sides.
Step 2: Heat a nonstick skillet on medium-high heat with olive oil.
Step 3: Sear chicken thighs for 4-5 minutes on each side. Make sure the chicken is cooked though and golden brown. Bone-in chicken thighs take a long time to cook but juicy chicken thighs are worth the wait!
Be careful with the hot oil. Once chicken is cooked to the internal temperature of 165 degrees F using an instant-read thermometer, switch the heat to medium low.
Step 4: To make the sweet honey garlic sauce, combine honey, soy sauce and chili flakes in a small bowl.
Step 5: Pour on the chicken and stir until combined.
Step 6: Add mango and garlic around the chicken thighs. Cook for about two minutes.
Step 7: Remove, garnish with cilantro and serve.
Additions and Substitutions
We like bone-in and skin-on chicken thighs to make honey garlic chicken thighs, but you can certainly use skinless, boneless chicken thighs or even skinless chicken breast if you prefer.
Next time you make this, try adding your favorite veggie like broccoli, green beans, snow peas, or even baby potatoes to this chicken dinner will switch it up so it’s not even the same meal but is still super easy to make.
You might want to roast the potatoes in the oven first and get them crisp. I’d also add the broccoli during the last few minutes so it’s tender crisp, just giving the chicken and vegetables time to absorb the flavor of the sauce.
Cauliflower rice is a good low carb option but be sure not to overcook it. Sprinkling green onion on top of the chicken would add nice flavor, too.
If you want to add a bit more sweetness, a sprinkle of brown sugar will do the trick. Be careful not to overdo it.
Serve this one-pan honey garlic chicken with white or brown rice.

Top Tips
Don’t be tempted to turn the chicken too early. That golden brown skin adds so much flavor!
Let the chicken come to room temperature before cooking and your chances of it cooking perfectly improve greatly.
Never cook your chicken past that 165º mark. Keep a meat thermometer handy so you can easily check the temperature. Remove from the pan right away as it will keep cooking in a hot pan.
