- Orange juice: The perfect sweetener for a cocktail.
- Bubbles: Champagne or Prosecco.
- Blue Curacao: Creates the ultimate Grinch green.
- Maraschino cherry: Mimics the red heart.
How to Make a Grinch Mimosa
Step 1: Grab your flute and add the orange juice.
Step 2: Add Prosecco.
Step 3: Pour in a splash of blue curacao and stir. This will make it a green color. Add more or less to create the green color you want.
Step 4: Add a maraschino cherry into the glass, then serve!
Variations and substitutions
- For a pop of red, use red sanding sugar around the rim of the glass. Dip the glass in corn syrup, then roll the rim in red sanding sugar. Then mix up the cocktail as you normally would.
- Slice a strawberry like a heart and place it on the rim of the glass.
- Grab a toothpick and garnish with cherries, raspberries, or even strawberries for the red color to stick to the cocktail.
- Use champagne of choice to alter the flavor of the cocktail.
- Use lemon-lime soda or sparkling water to replace prosecco, making it a non-alcoholic drink for kids.
- Swap orange juice with grapefruit juice, pineapple juice, or another type you would like.
Top Tips
When you are mixing your cocktail, I recommend chilling all the ingredients before you start.
Use fresh juice for the best flavor of the cocktail.
Lightly stir, making sure not to overmix, as it will deflate the bubbles in the champagne.
Leave room at the top of the glass to add some blue curacao to the glass so you get that bright green color to the cocktail.
