Course: Lunch or Dinner
Cuisine: American
Servings: 2

Ingredients

  • 4 slices of bread
  • 4 Tbs Butter
  • 8 thin slices of ham
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • ¼ cup milk
  • Pinch pepper and salt
  • Pinch Nutmeg
  • Powdered sugar for sprinkling
  • ¼ cup Felix Lingonberries Jam

Instructions

  • Whisk eggs until foamy.
  • Add milk and mix well.
  • Lightly spread butter on inside of bread slices.
  • Melt remaining butter in large skillet.
  • Melt Felix Jam (I used the microwave for about 20 seconds, but you can use stove, too)
  • Place jam in small bowl.
  • Place 4 pieces of ham and 2 pieces of cheese on slices of buttered bread.
  • Place sandwiches in egg mixture, soaking just a little of the mixture into the bread.
  • Don't leave too long or you won't have enough for second sandwich!
  • Place sandwiches in skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Cook on each side, trying not to disturb until browned.
  • Remove from pain and place on paper towel to blot excess butter.
  • Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
  • Serve jam on the side for dipping or drizzling.
