If you can visit Sarasota from October 28-November 6, 2012, you have got to check out The Sarasota Chalk Festival! This amazing event is unlike anything you’ve ever seen, and is attracting people from all over the world! If you can’t make it this year, try to schedule your plans for visiting paradise around this festival next year. You won’t be disappointed!
This year’s theme is “Circus City, USA, and focuses on a time when Sarasota was home to the circus. If you don’t know the history of Sarasota, John Ringling made his home here. You can still visit the amazing Ca’ d’Zan Mansion. Please do yourself a favor and take the tour! It’s included in your admission and is awesome! But before I go off on a tangent, let me get back to the Chalk Festival…
Featuring all kinds of street entertainment, The Sarasota Chalk Festival is a ten day party. Over 500 artists will be participating by creating 2D and 3D paintings using chalk and the road surface for their canvas. Just look at these pics from last year’s event!
You’ll even find a KidServe Children’s Chalk Block where your little ones can create their own masterpieces using the same chalk used by the professionals!
If you live anywhere near Sarasota, don’t miss the Chalk Festival! By the way, it’s not far from the #1 beach in the country, Siesta Key! Come for the week and bring your sunscreen! It will be back in the 80’s this weekend!
