Last weekend I went to the first Social Fabric Conference. In case you aren’t familiar with Social Fabric, they are a fast-growing community of influencers connecting with brands for social media promotion. I am fortunate enough to be one of those influencers, and I just love working with my Social Fabric family. So, here are my top 5 favorites of the conference.
1. The cocktail party at Crystal Bridges Museum. The first night of the conference I had a hot little black dress that I could not wait to wear. Unfortunately, I was delayed and my luggage was delayed even longer. So, I wore jeans to meet my fellow bloggers. And you know what? No one cared. I had a wonderful time getting to know my amazing Social Fabric family.
2.The speakers. There were many great speakers! We began with Umang Shah, Director of Social Strategy for Walmart. What a way to kick off the conference! I learn so much from Dan Morris each time I hear him speak, and the amazing Danielle Smith shared her tips for vlogging and taking our sites to the next level. We also heard from Tiffany Romero of SITS Girls, who I have been working with for the past year and had never seen in person. There were other great speakers, but we had to choose which workshops we wanted to attend, as with most conferences, so I missed a few that I wish I could have heard.
3. Meeting “old” friends & making new ones. I have a group of friends who I have been hanging out with online for the past 6 months or so that I had not met. These are people I chat with every day! It was so fun to meet Kristin Wheeler, Amanda Taylor, Alyssa McVey & Pamela King! I also got to meet and room with Nicole Brady, and hung out with her and Sara Vargas in my awesome room (upgraded thanks to my rockin’ husband!) I met so many amazing new friends!
4.SWAG! Conair, I love you! I got a sweet new hair dryer from Conair which I’ll be telling you more about soon. Nestle, you rock! International Delight..YUM! Bigelow, I heart you (sipping one of your gifts now!) SearsStyle.com, Kraft, Coupon Factory, & Seattle’s Best Coffee, thank you for your sponsorship of the conference! I hope to work with you all!
5.Awkward Stretching! For my readers who aren’t familiar with Social Fabric, Awkward Stretching is…fun! You’ve got to try it to experience it. Look at the photos below, and try it yourself. I’ll wait…
All I can say is that I can’t wait for the next SoFabCon!
