I have loved Dara Maclean since the first time I heard that voice. That voice! This girl can seriously sing! I was excited when Word Entertainment asked me to listen to Wanted. I loved Suitcases, from her first album, You Got My Attention, which ended up reaching #18 on Billboard Hot Christian Songs. Maclean will be touring with Casting Crowns next month, too, so you know she has to be amazing!
From her website: A singer of incredible grace, power and control as well as a gifted songwriter…she has forged a sound rooted in the ’70s Motown, funk and soul her parents loved and filtered through a thoroughly contemporary urban pop lens.
My opinion? Wanted will be even bigger than Suitcases. First of all, Dara Maclean is established now. Christian music lovers know who she is. Suitcases got a LOT of airplay. Now that she is touring with Casting Crowns, those who don’t know her, will. This album is so good. Wanted is an amazing song. The beat is unusual, and it took me a bit to get used to the way the chorus comes in, but now I love it. However, there is another song on this CD that I think is going to be huge. Love Is makes me dance in my car. Don’t judge me. I think this song could be a huge hit even on mainstream radio. It’s really that good. Maclean has such a soulful style. I wish there was a Youtube video of Love Is I could share with you, but there isn’t. Take a look and listen to Wanted, the title track to this album:
Awesome, right? Well, the rest of the album is great, too! The more I listen, the more I love it. Right now my three favorites are Love Is, Good Enough, and Step Into the Light. All three right in a row, and I keep listening to those three over and over. You are going to love it.
Another reason to love Dara Maclean is that she partners with the International Justice Mission which fights against human trafficking.
I’m excited to be partnering with Word Entertainment to give away 2 copies of Wanted! Enter in the Rafflecopter below! Good luck!
