Who’s excited about the new Disney film, MARY POPPINS RETURNS? It’s an all-new sequel with a fresh sensibility that celebrates the spirit of the original film.
I just love that this is not a remake of the classic 1964 film, but instead, Mary Poppins is back to help the next generation of the Banks family find the joy and wonder missing in their lives. Don’t we all need a little joy and wonder? The film arrives in theatres this Christmas.
MARY POPPINS RETURNS will star Emily Blunt as the practically-perfect nanny with unique magical skills who can turn any task into an unforgettable, fantastic adventure. We’ve been waiting almost 2 years for this film!!
Watch the trailer:
Lin-Manuel Miranda plays Mary’s friend Jack, an optimistic street lamplighter who helps bring light—and life—to the streets of London.
Ben Whishaw plays Michael Banks; Emily Mortimer is Jane Banks and Julie Walters plays the Banks’ housekeeper Ellen.
Colin Firth plays Fidelity Fiduciary Bank’s William Weatherall Wilkins and the incredible Meryl Streep is Mary’s eccentric cousin, Topsy.
The film also introduces three new Banks’ children played by Pixie Davies, Nathanael Saleh and newcomer Joel Dawson.
I can’t wait to see Angela Lansbury as the Balloon Lady, a treasured character from the PL Travers books.
And of course, Dick Van Dyke is Mr. Dawes Jr., the retired chairman of the bank now run by Firth’s character.
I wish I had more to share with you, but that’s all I’ve got for now! I’ll share as soon as I have more!
