I like to look at my blog stats each Monday to see how I’m improving. I know it’s not good to get caught up in your numbers, but I do feel it is encouraging to see where I’ve improved. I also need to know where I need to get better. Is my content something my readers are interested in? If I’m losing subscribers, I want to know! I also track all my social media accounts. Not only do I want to make sure I am increasing my followers, but PR companies I work with often ask for these numbers. This is why I choose to track my stats weekly. You may choose to do it monthly.
I downloaded a free blog calendar in December that had a place to log monthly blog stats, but I found the calendar just didn’t have enough room for me to write everything down on my to-do list. I use one calendar for everything, including our family schedule, school classes, travel dates, and conferences. I decided to go back to a calendar with more room, and I’ve been writing in my stats once a week. I began to think there must be a better way! Some of you may keep track of everything in an excel spreadsheet. You can Google that and find spreadsheets you can just download. I am still old school in the way I do things. I do use Google Calendar for meal planning because I like to integrate it with Pinterest, but for my daily calendar, I like to use a pen!
I decided to make up some stat sheets that I can just stick on my calendar. I’m really happy with the way they turned out, and I thought there might be others who would like to have this resource, too. All you need is the document, scissors, and a glue stick. Cut out the individual stat notes and glue them onto your calendar with a glue stick. Done! I hope it’s helpful to you!

Oh man… if I started keeping track I’d do nothing else, lol. I can’t let myself get caught up in the numbers…although I do like to peek now and then myself. 🙂

What a great idea! Although not really sure I want to see my stats right now! LOL

I don’t really keep long term numbers but I should. I record the monthly stats each month on my blog but don’t archive the numbers. This is a good system though.

I love this! It would be very interesting to watch my stats with my new blog. Pinning! I’ll have to come back and print those puppies out.

Oof. This made me wince a bit since I hate to look at my stats lol. I know that we need to know them though, to share with companies interested in working with us, so it’s great that you are offering this resource to us. Thanks so much for sharing!

I’m horrible…I only look at stats if someone asks or I feel like something isn’t quite right. Great tips, thanks for sharing! 🙂

This is a great idea! I kind of dread looking at my stats because I am either overjoyed or sad and it is just information (shouldn’t be emotional!!) and I think having a template like this would help a LOT!

I used to be more stats crazed, now as long as I stay above a certain threshold I don’t scrutinize. Perhaps I should try these for a few weeks… I might be getting lax.
Karen says
I only write them down when a PR person wants them. I guess I should try to keep up with them. Your printable looks easy enough.
Kelly says
It does make it easier, Karen. Thanks for visiting!

Interesting way to keep track of stats! Mine don’t go up much each week so I’m, in all reality, kind of stagnant unfortunately. Still working out some kinks with creating new content. My initial goal was to hit 200 fans on Facebook by the time I reached 6 months with this blog. I have about a month and a half left with 73 likes needed. As slow as it’s been I admit I am not confident it will happen. I hate that feeling but I am trying to think and stay positive. Anything can happen, right? =)

Nice, thanks for sharing this! I’m immersed in social media but I’m still a very pen and paper kind of person. I have tons of notebooks that I use to keep track of blog-related data; I like this!
Kelly says
I’m old school, too, Beeb. A notebook is a great idea, too! Thanks!
