I’m sharing this post about ways to spread happiness with Zicam® as part of a sponsored series with Socialstars.
We live in a crazy world, and if there are easy ways to spread happiness, I want to do as much of it as I can! I’m sure your Facebook feed is a lot like mine; so many people are going through hard times. It only takes a minute to change someone’s day.
Every day when I open Facebook, I see someone else who is facing difficulties. Maybe it’s the loss of a job, financial troubles, or maybe it’s just the beginnings of a cold that has them down.
Here’s the thing; sometimes, a little bit of encouragement goes a long way. Sometimes, those people we care about just need to know we are there for them.
4 Easy Ways to Spread Happiness
These four ways to spread happiness are easy and inexpensive (or free!) Take a few minutes today to encourage someone you care about.
1 Let Them Know You Care
This one is the easiest, and I don’t know why I don’t do it more often! Pick up the phone and call a friend who is going through a rough time, and just listen. Ask them how things are going, and just be a friend.
Make plans to get together for coffee when they have time. I can’t tell you the number of times I have picked up the phone and the person on the other end said it was just what they needed that day.
We’re all busy, but it really can make a huge difference. Set the time aside, put it on your schedule, and pick up the phone.
2 Make a Meal and Deliver It
Make a meal and take it to someone who is sick. My favorite meal to make for others is roasted chicken. I usually just roast a whole chicken with carrots, potatoes, and seasoning, but last week I tried butternet squash and fennel bulbs and it was fantastic!
When I deliver it the meal, I include a container of chicken broth and a loaf of fresh bread. The next day, the leftover chicken and veggies mixed with the broth will make a small pot of chicken soup. 2 meals in 1, and it’s one less thing that family has to worry about.
3 Deliver a Gift Basket
Take someone a gift basket filled with a few pieces of fruit, fresh baked cookies, a box of their favorite tea, and a copy of their favorite magazine. I like to add a package of Zicam to the basket. I still can’t believe how many of my friends don’t know about this product (especially as much as I talk about it!)
Zicam® Cold Remedy products are a safe and effective way to help you shorten the duration of a cold. And Zicam doesn’t just throw that claim around. Zicam® Cold Remedy Nasal Swabs are the only nasal swabs that are clinically proven to shorten colds.
What’s more, the plant-derived active ingredients containing cooling menthol and soothing eucalyptus even reduce the severity of your symptoms by 45 percent when taken as soon as you notice you’re getting a cold.
Though Zicam® Cold Remedy does not work instantly, it is a homeopathic option that helps to shorten the time you have to deal with the symptoms. A lot of people depend on me, and I don’t want to be sick any longer than I have to. This is why I personally use Zicam® the moment I notice symptoms of a cold.
Please refer to the Zicam website to learn more about dosage directions, and check with a pharmacist or doctor before taking Zicam® products with other medications. You’ll find Zicam® Cold Remedy in all your major food, drug and mass merchandise retailers where you do your regular shopping, so there’s no need to go out of your way.
Zicam can be taken on the go, so get started as soon as those sniffling, coughing, sneezing symptoms begin.
4 Send a Card
Sending a card is another really easy task and one that I want to do more of in the new year. Now it’s easier than ever to send a card with the help of Zicam’s Cold Connections, a free e-card creator. You don’t even have to get up from where you’re sitting!
Choose from three options when making your card; Thinking of You, Thank you, or Get Well. Many of you know my mom has had several strokes in the past year, and I decided to send her a Thinking of You card. Though we talk all the time, I know this card will make her smile.
I know it’s a busy time of year, but letting someone know you care will only take a moment, and could make all the difference for someone who is struggling today. Take a minute now to make a difference in someone’s day. I’m betting it will make your day to do it!

Those are all great ideas, and something I need to make time to do. I love it when people reach out to me! I tend to get so wrapped up in what’s going on in my home, I don’t take the time to connect with others.

Love this. I like to look for small gifts year round to send to friends and family when they are sick. Just sent a package to my aunt this week, she found out she has cancer. I like the idea of sending cold medicine to those far away too.
