Do you celebrate Easter? We love holidays, and Easter is one of my favorites. As a Christian family, we’ve always had a big celebration. We would make our girls Easter baskets and let them dive into them first thing in the morning. Later, we would head out to church, followed by family joining us for an Easter egg hunt and dinner. My dad would always fill plastic eggs with small toys, candies, and coins, and my daughters and nieces loved searching for them in the back yard. I have great memories of five little girls running around in their pretty dresses searching for those pastel eggs and squealing with delight each time they discovered another one.

You’ll find adorable basket ideas for every age on the Celebrate with Hershey’s website. I love this one for artists!

Though my girls are teenagers, I still enjoy making them Easter baskets. I know I’m not alone, because I have friends who still make baskets for their college-aged kids! My mother-in-law gave us two of the baskets she used for my husband and his brothers, so they are really special to us. When our girls were little, I always added in a fun video or CD, and a small stuffed animal. Now that they’re older, I add pretty hair barrettes, headbands, nail accessories, or other items teens might like.

HERSHEY

This year I found some really cute gifts including a pretty compact for each girl. I added in lots of HERSHEY candy and a few decorations.

I’ll still put the basket out the night before so the girls will find them in the morning. They may act like they are too old for an Easter basket, but I know they would secretly be disappointed if I didn’t make them one!

Hershey

We always celebrate Easter with a big dinner. I decided to try to create a delicious and fun Easter dessert using HERSHEY candy this year. The possibilities are endless when you think about all the different varieties of candy HERSHEY makes! My daughters and I spent some time experimenting, and came up with this easy recipe for Chocolate Peanut Butter Easter Pies. They turned out so pretty and festive looking!

hershey pies

Ingredients
8 mini graham cracker pie crusts
16 ounces Light Cream Cheese
4 REESE’S White Peanut Butter Eggs
4 REESE’S Peanut Butter Eggs
8 HERSHEY’S KISSES Milk Chocolates, finely chopped
1 cup shredded coconut
Green food coloring (I used Nature’s Flavors)
CADBURY Mini Eggs for decoration

Directions
Empty cream cheese into large mixing bowl. Add chopped REESE’S Peanut Butter Eggs in small batches and blend until smooth using hand-held mixer.

HERSHEY

Add HERSHEY KISSES and blend until smooth. This can take a while, so be patient. At this point, if your kids are helping, they are going to want to lick those beaters. (Not that we did that.) Fill each pie crust with cream cheese mixture.

HERSHEY
Empty coconut into medium mixing bowl. Add tiny drops of food coloring until desired green color is reached. Top each pie with green coconut, and place CADBURY Mini Eggs on top of pies just before serving. This was such a quick and easy dessert! Aren’t they pretty?

My grandson then 2 was walking around picking them up eating them and my 4 yr old granddaughter was having a fit. He turned around to her and told her not poop, candy lol.
